Information:
Professor
Freivalds initiated the Human Factors/Ergonomics Engineering program at
Penn State with graduate courses in biomechanics, work psychology,
modeling of the musculoskeletal system,
and developed a human factors teaching and research
laboratory (later named the Ben
Niebel
Work
Design Lab). More recently he formed the Center
for
Cumulative Trauma Disorders Research to act as the focal point for
ergonomics assistance to Pennsylvania industries. Over the last 20 years, over
75 companies have benefited
from this Center. He is Fellow of the Ergonomics Society
and is on the editorial boards for the International
Journal of Industrial Ergonomics and for Applied
Ergonomics.
