Not everyone can
devote the time, or indeed feels the need for a full time academic
course. We at Penn State's EIC recognize the diverse needs for education that exist and are moving to meet those demands.
Continuing Education will be a natural extension of the Enterprise Integration program at Penn State. Consultation with members in Academia
and our Industry Advisory Board (IAB) will help us determine both the needs and capabilities required to deliver related programs through Distance Education.
In the near future, our Continuing Education programs will take the form of workshops, conferences and on-site tailored programs for industry.
Specific contracts may be negotiated between clients and research centers, namely the Enterprise Integration Consortium (EIC), Center for Supply Chain Research (CSCR),
Center for manufacturing Enterprise Integration (CMEI), Electronic Business Research Center (eBRC) and the Solutions Center in the School of Information Sciences and
Technology (IST).
Later, in Phase II of our program plan, Web based courses will be considered for development. market need, recommendations from the IAB, faculty
interest and available financial support will determine the
feasibility of web-based instruction.
